BJP Member of Parliament Nishikant Dubey has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the alleged NEET-UG exam paper leak, suggesting that some students are using it as an excuse for their underperformance. Speaking during the Parliament Monsoon Session on Thursday, Dubey emphasized that students aiming to become professionals such as doctors, engineers, or civil servants should rely on their education and merit to succeed, rather than blaming external factors.
In light of the paper leak incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for stringent actions against those involved. Thirteen individuals have been arrested in connection with the leak, and Modi has urged that they face swift justice in fast-track courts. The Prime Minister assured that the government is committed to ensuring that anyone jeopardizing students’ futures will face severe consequences.
The government has extended an olive branch to the protesting groups, reiterating its openness to dialogue. Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh have expressed their willingness to meet with protesters at their official offices or residences to discuss their concerns. This comes as the protesters demand accountability and have called for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the paper leak scandal.
Meanwhile, the protest movement continues to gain momentum, with organizers announcing plans for nationwide peaceful demonstrations. The demands for accountability and transparency in the handling of the NEET exam process highlight the significant public unrest and the pressure on the government to address these grievances effectively.
It should be noted that some claims associated with the protest, including references to a group humorously dubbed the “Cockroach Janta Party,” remain unverified and may not accurately reflect the situation. Nonetheless, the controversy underscores the critical need for integrity in the examination process and the impact such incidents can have on students’ futures.
