He encouraged members of both parliamentary houses to engage in constructive debate. Highlighting India’s advancements, Modi praised the country’s achievements on the global stage and in space exploration, singling out Skyroot Aerospace—a private space startup with an average team age of 28 years—as a testament to the potential of India’s youth.
Taking an indirect jab at the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, Modi made a remark about referring to “young people” rather than “a 56-year-old youth.” This comment underscored his focus on the aspirations and capabilities of the younger generation driving India’s growing success in technology and space sectors.
The Monsoon Session is poised to feature discussions on several significant bills. Among these are proposed amendments concerning foreign funding regulations, taxation, higher education, and judicial reforms, as well as the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises. A key legislative proposal includes a bill aiming to increase the sanctioned strength of Supreme Court judges from 33 to 37, excluding the Chief Justice of India, to address the backlog of cases.
As the government pushes forward with a series of reforms, the session is anticipated to witness robust political debate, with the opposition expected to spotlight various national issues. This dynamic sets the stage for a potentially contentious yet crucial period of legislative activity.
